Details On HARD’s ‘Fresh Meat’ Fall Class!

Have you ever wanted to play roller derby? If so, join HARD for the start of our Fresh Meat Fall Session!

Real. Strong. Athletic. Revolutionary…..

That is the motto of WFTDA, the governing body of women’s flat track roller derby. We at HARD couldn’t agree more, and are looking to add new skaters to keep the sport growing. We love roller derby, and want you to, too!

Starting on Sunday, July 30, Hartford Area Roller Derby will be hosting an intensive 20-week program designed to get even the most rookie skaters from wall-hugging to confident advanced-beginner. During the Fall, we build up the raw skills needed to play the game, the mindset to thrive in an athletic environment, and help develop good roller derby habits both on and off the track. Those passing the initial program will then move into the second half in the Spring which includes application of skill in game play, and breaking down the strategy of the game and preparing skaters for scrimmage, and eventually, competitive bouting.

We welcome skaters of all levels, and look forward to having you join us!

Our first night will be Sunday, July 30, from 5:00p to 7:00p. This
introductory night will allow us to introduce you all to HARD and our
training staff, to preview the schedule, to run through some basics about HARD as a league, to briefly explain about gear and what will be needed from Fresh Meat skaters, and, hopefully, get you on skates for a bit to run through some initial drills.

Email to sign up for the program, or with any questions you may have.

There is a $10.00 registration fee (cash only), and a mouthguard and insurance are required.
Skates are available for rental, and limited protective gear is available, but skaters are encouraged to bring their own.

See you on the 30th!
